We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to play a
critical role in the development and standardization of logistics
system building blocks, enabling rapid deployment of scalable,
modular solutions across Dematic's global operations. In this role,
you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), driving the
design, development, and validation of cutting-edge controls
solutions that integrate seamlessly into our solutions design.

international mechanical and controls engineers, you will ensure

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $ 82,000 -
166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be
determined by various factors such as work location, education,
experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What You Will do in This Role:
- Lead the design and commercialization of pre-engineered
standardized control modules, ensuring validated design are
commercialized through beta implementation at customer sites and/or
a Dematic facility.
- Configure and execute scalable PLC and HMI software solutions,
focusing on Siemens S7/TIA Portal.
- Drive the creation and implementation of graphical
configuration tool content (CET Designer) for controls and
emulation models to optimize module functionality and
flexibility.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure solutions
align with international and regional compliance
standards.
- Serve as the technical lead for controls design, overseeing the
development of comprehensive documentation such as Controls
Descriptions of Operations, system layouts, electrical drawings,
emulation models, and SCADA/PLC software.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers,
ensuring project milestones are achieved with a high level of
quality and compliance.
- Actively contribute to cross-functional collaboration with
Product Management, Systems Engineering, and Commercialization
teams to drive end-to-end system success.
- Advocate for and implement process, tool, and product
improvements to enhance organizational efficiencies and customer
value.
- Partner with the Global Controls Architecture team to ensure
seamless integration of e quipment while maintaining compliance
with Dematic's global controls architecture .
- Facilitate technical presentations, workshops, and Q&A
sessions with internal and external stakeholders to ensure
knowledge transfer and alignment.
- Lead pilot project execution activities, supporting project
engineering, installation, commissioning, and integration testing
to ensure seamless deployments.
- Lead multiple initiatives concurrently while mentoring junior
engineers and providing technical direction.

- In-depth understanding of automation industry trends and best
practices in controls system design.
- Experience in the development of scalable, high-performance
control modules for material handling applications.
- Familiarity with advanced visualization and emulation tools to
enhance system functionality.

innovation with practical, production-ready solutions.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with a
demonstrated ability to work effectively across globally
distributed teams.
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to take ownership

- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills to drive
alignment and adoption of controls strategies.
Experience Desired:
- 5+ years of experience in controls engineering within
logistics, automation, or industrial settings
- Proven expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and
industrial automation technologies.
- Hands-on experience with real-time control hardware, networks,
and distributed automation systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Siemens S7/TIA Portal (other PLC
experience considered).
- Experience with key material handling technologies such as
tote/tray buffer system, pallet buffer system, sorters,
etc.
- Prior experience working in a matrixed, multinational
organization preferred.
- Travel up to 35% domestically and internationally as needed for
customer and internal site engagements and support.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, or
related field.
