Description:This is a part-time role that works with the LOOP
Program, which provides elementary and middle school kids a safe,
fun place to learn about themselves and the world around them. LOOP
is free in the Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) and offers
academic support (tutoring, homework assistance, etc.) by certified
teachers. The program also has an array of virtual youth enrichment
activities including recreation, arts, and cultural activities,
virtual field trips, and more. Loop is funded by the 21st Century
Grant. The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids currently oversees nine
Loop site in the GRPS schools.OUR CULTURE:Guiding Principles

model for YMCAs across the country. All staff members-front-line,
management, full- and part-time-and volunteers have a role to play

about their satisfaction with a program or activity, track

volunteers.POSITION SUMMARY:The Activity Leader will assist in the
planning, developing, and implementing of activities for Loop
programs. This position requires face-to-face leadership in this
program. Must be available to work Monday through Thursday, 12:00 -
3:30 PM.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists Site Coordinator/Supervisor in developing and leading
daily lesson plans
- Actively engages with children in the classroom
- Assists with daily parent communication
- Prepares materials for daily activity
- Maintains records of attendance, arrival, and departure
times
- Maintains supervision of children
- Efficiently communicates with classroom teaching teamPerforms
any other functions deemed to be necessary for the smooth and
efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids
AssociationCOMPENSATION$14.62 - $18.28 ; Non-Exempt; Part Time (up

to six months childcare related experience; or equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience required.
Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages,
and lifestyles. Working knowledge of computers and experience with
a variety of software applications.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,

- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required
within the first 60 days
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
- AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
- MiRegistry-Health and Safety Course 1 and 2 within the 60
days.
