Job Description Job Description As a Hospitalist Physician at
Corewell Health West, you will play a crucial role in providing
high-quality patient care. You’ll collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams, manage acute and chronic medical
conditions, and contribute to the overall well-being of our
patients. Opportunity Highlights: Manage acute medical conditions,
including admissions, discharges, and rounding. The Hospitalists
cover both Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals. Coordinate care with
specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality, and
efficiency. Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement
initiatives, and case reviews. Mentor medical residents and
students, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Excellent
schedule of 175 shifts per year consisting primarily of 7 on/7 off;
weeks starting on Tuesdays. 7 paid jeopardy shifts scattered
throughout the year reduces high census days. A dedicated team of 8
nocturnists allows the day shift physicians with little to no night
shifts required. Census goal of 15 to 17 for rounding shifts.
